ATEX Fans – Safe Operation in Explosive Atmospheres
ATEX refers to the European directives governing equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. ATEX fans are specifically designed to operate safely where flammable gases, vapours, mists or combustible dusts may be present. Selecting the correct ATEX-rated fan is critical and must be based not only on the characteristics of the media being conveyed, but also on the classification of the external environment in which the fan is installed. Proper specification ensures compliance, minimises ignition risk, and safeguards personnel, plant and processes.
