Performance Testing

Our in-house test facilities are used to test fans of all sizes prior to shipment up to 300kW. Testing can be done at our facility for both LV and MV motors, with dedicated site transformers.

Frequency converters allow fan speeds to be assessed over a range of power frequencies – allowing fans to be tested over likely operating conditions where variable speed drives are incorporated into the system.

Our site includes two dedicated test areas. The larger testing area includes an acoustic enclosure to allow witness of fan tests adjacent to the fan under test.

All fans can undergo rigorous operational and performance verification prior to dispatch, including:

  • Aerodynamic performance testing to ISO 5801
  • Mechanical vibration and balance verification to ISO 14694
  • Noise testing to ISO 13347-3
  • Leakage testing for gas-tight applications
  • Laser shaft alignment for precision coupling alignment
  • Pneumatic pressure testing


This structured testing regime ensures each unit meets its specified aerodynamic, mechanical and containment performance requirements before installation.
